Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 175.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around phone I bought this phone in December and it was great, some videos and reviews said this phone wasn't going be the best but I think other wise. I broke my first idol 3 and lived it so much I rebought it. The memory is great, the ram is Great, and the phone works pretty fast. So I recommend this phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome! A few problems I bought this exactly 2 months ago, it is so nice! the camera has wonderful quality, the sound is great!! But there are a few problems. At the top where it shows the wifi connection, battery, time, etc, it has two layers. Like for example, it says my battery is on 100 percent but behind that it says 34 percent... so I don't know whats going on there. Another thing, the key board has a few glitches once in a while, but you can fix that by downloading a keyboard from the app store. The last huge problems are that if the phone is dropped, it says that the sim card is not in it when it is. Also, My daughter was with her friends at a girl scout meeting and she tripped. the phone had a very light drop. She had the protective case and the actual case on and everything. But the phone cracked so easily. (there was alllot of crying)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cricket customer for years After 8 years of being a cricket customer, I've had my fair share of going through multiple phones and plans. By far this phone has exceeded my expectations. Before I had the Samsung Galaxy S3 (back when it was fairly new and very expensive). But I broke it on accident.. and thus needed a new phone. I decided the more expensive isn't always the best and needed a phone with a good battery life and at least 8 hours of Pandora/music play/you tube watching/ snap chat uploading. I always wanted a high-resolution camera along with durability from withstanding sweat, dirt, and unexpected drops. I also didn't want a huge bulky design and all of this in a great price range.. After much researching and comparing the specs to other phones I decided to buy this phone. I bought this phone maybe a 1 year and half ago and its still in great condition. I keep a simple case and glass tempered screen protector on it. Which has stood up to falls from 3-4 feet to concrete. The double speakers are fairly loud and great for video watching, auxiliary play through the headphone jack to my car sounds crisp, and held up battery life from 100% to about 75% on a 3 1/2 hour road trip up in the mountains while using a navigation map and playing a podcast in the back round. After a 8 hour work day of some heavy use of pandora and some snapchat/youtube watching. The left overall battery would be 15%-23%, of course with low brightness, not high volume with speaker use, and no automatic screen turning. The camera specs are amazing at a cheaper price than most, selfies and long distance landscape pictures come out beautiful, using the phone is easy to use, and held a 64 gb memory card..Up until I decided to download a game that somehow crashed the card and messed up some aspects of the phone like snap chat and gallery view only to result in a overall factory reset.. WIth all of this I still happy with the phone, at a great price, and a durable phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad phone Look don't buy this phone. The drawbacks to it are: I frequently got told I sounded like I was in a tunnel, the sensor in the phone that tells the phone that you have taken it away from your ear and to turn the screen back on doesn't work so whenever I would switch to speaker phone I would have to tell the caller to hold on while I waited for the phone to catch up to what I was doing. It doesn't have a swype keyboard, and the Google voice talk to type is slower than my daughter's cheap Samsung. Also the Google voice where you can say "ok Google" is messed up it responds to my daughter saying ok to her phone and even opened up one time when someone on tv said ok and I have retrained the voice 2 if not 3 times. I had to go back to using my old phone because this is not a reliable device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Phone I bought this phone about a year ago and bought another for my son at the same time. Both phones have had zero problems. The price has dropped since we got our phones so this is a great deal plus if you bring your own number its even better!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great until it suddenly died one day I have had this phone for just about 5 months and it worked great until it just stopped working. Not dropped and no water damage It would just not recognize touch and was frozen. Was able to shut it down and start it back up, but it was still frozen and didn't function. I really liked the large screen and was happy while it worked, but $100 for a phone that doesn't even make it to the 6 month mark is a joke. Stay far far far far away!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from day 2 & disappointed This is my second day with the idol phone and I regret it already! Slow to open apps and webpages but mostly I miss my wifi assistant. No smart switch for Wi-Fi networking! I'm upset because I was told this phone had more storage - that was a lie! I miss my galaxy 5 even with its old age it was better than this discount phone. I went in looking for good battery life didn't find that either. Very limited phone and makes the app selection limited as well. Do not buy this phone!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointing Often times very slow to function and to respond. When you receive a call, it is embarrassing how hard it is to answer because it will not respond to your multiple touches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the best, but pretty close I have had this phone for 1 1/2 years. The biggest complaint most people have is the screen is delicate. This is true. I broke mine after about 6 months(first time ever). Even the smallest crack renders the touch screen unresponsive. I decided to try and replace the screen myself instead of buying a new phone(thanks to youtube). For $30 I figured what can I loose, it's already broken. Well now I can't kill it! I've dropped it off a roof, left it out in the pouring rain and generally abused it so I could have an excuse to buy a new one. But it keeps on running. My only other real complaint is the camera doesn't have a great zoom to it and every time you stick it in your pocket you WILL dial someone. But for the money it's the best phone you can buy. I'll probably get another one if this one ever dies!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy So Far! I have been using this phone for a month now and I love it! Of course I upgraded from a low end phone with Straighttalk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable and Infuriating This phone does not know how to stay silent, which is not a problem I've ever had with any other phone. It will turn off its silent setting at any time, including 4am to notify me I have an email. I've set it to be silent from 10pm-8am, and it still does this. I have to turn it off at night to keep it from bothering me in the middle of the night. It will also turn the volume back on during meetings, concerts, times when your toddler is napping etc. It's HORRIBLE.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good phone with issues I've had this phone for about a year now and its still OK but with lots of issues though. It has plenty of pros like the camera during the day looks really good(don't even try taking pictures at night, horrible). The screen is big and bright, battery life is also pretty good, and the phone itself is light and thin. But the big issues are that after about half a year or so the power button started not to work as well but now it doesn't work at all and I have to use the double tap but its slow and sometimes won't work either. Also after a few months the phone gets really lagy and freezes on a lot of apps and takes an eternity to open some. The screen is the most responsive either and opening even just a few apps together or playing high end games will make it lag so much. But overall the phone is still pretty good but theres better choices out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Idol 4 is not better than idol3! Idol 3 has a bigger and better ips screen than idol 4 which is more accurate in terms of color reproduction. Performance-wise idol 4 is better than idol 3 , thanks to the new chipset. There is no way I can tell if idol 4 has a better camera because the screen is greenish while my idol 3 is a bit yellowish. My idol 3 can take great pictures, but only when I have sufficient light and good focus point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hunk of Junk I bought this phone 2 months ago. It is a piece of garbage. It shuts down and restarts at least 4-5 times a day. It did it repeatedly this morning for 20 min straight. I wanted to throw it out the window. Sometimes the volume will not work and I have to restart the phone. I barely have any apps on it and the storage is almost full. It is probably the worst phone I have ever had and not worth the 99.00 I paid for it. I will never buy an Alcatel again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No bang for the buck I cant believe they are still charging this much for this phone, I paid this price over a year ago for it. Every other phone that I've seen and/or bought has dropped in price. Performance is great, never had a complaint about speed or stalling. However, the pictures are junk for the price, my son's ZTE grand x 3 takes better photos and is much cheaper. They do not turn out as well as what you see on the screen. The sound is muffled during calls despite their "oh so great" speakers. And I cannot for the life of me change my text ring tone, I have searched and had others try. Also, the storage ran out of space very quickly and I had a hard time moving the few apps I had to the SD card. After all this, I called customer support (Alcotel) and waited for over 45 minutes without so much as and answer. Did this on several days. I will never buy another alcotel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk As a previous reviewer stated the phone drasticly over heated after about a month the battery would die extremely fast and a tiny crack in the corner and the while screen became unusable I have a $19 dollar lg I cracked the entire screen and it still works

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Power/Lock button sticking after one year of use Look, you really can't beat this phone for less than a hundred bucks. The screen is great and bright, the speakers are loud and overall its a zippy enough phone. The main camera is meh-good. The selfie camera is good. The only reason this phone didn't get at least four stars is because my power/lock button sticks and acts strange. It was still under warranty, but it too much of a pain being without a phone to send it in for repair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It could be better I've had this phone for about 6 months now and although I'm in love with the design and the camera, I'm not loving the functionality. The processor is super slow, constantly having to clear my phone memory of anything dragging it down and making it slower, wifi is iffy at best due to unexplainable signal loss, battery life is horrible. It can be buggy sometimes and just freeze up or even shut off.
Date published: 2016-12-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible phone In the first month the phone started freezing and restarting on its own. To get it off the frozen screen the battery is near impossible to get to. If my screen wouldnt have cracked at the fault of my kids, me getting the back of the phone off, to take out the battery, to restart the phone would have killed it sooner than later. Not one day did the battery last till the early afternoon. I had to constantly have a charger with me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good phone I bought this almost over a year ago and it been great didn't really have a probably with it until recently. It isn't reading my SD card and the power button doesnt work at all now so i rely on double tap and sometimes that takes a while. Over all specs are great and speakers are amazing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE I bought this phone a little over a year ago and was pretty happy with it until I hit the year mark. Within two weeks of the warranty going out the phone would shut off randomly and freeze on the logo screen. I would have to hold the power button for more than a minute just so it would shut off and I could restart it. Then, from having to use the power button so excessively, the button broke. So then I had to go in and reset it so that I could double tap on the screen and it would open the phone, which was fine for whenever I needed to use the phone, but when it would freeze on the logo screen I just had to wait for it to die so I could recharge it and then use one of the barely known button tricks to reset the whole thing just to actually turn the device on. Then out of nowhere the screen stopped working. I can get calls on it, texts go through, I even get notifications for Facebook and Tumblr and my email. But there is nothing I can do to make the screen work. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER ALCATEL. And Cricket has given me such a run around with my phone in general going so far as to make me wait a month before even telling me that I don't actually have insurance on the phone (even though I have a receipt saying I'd paid for it at the time of purchase) to telling me I'd just have to purchase a whole new phone because mine was so old it wasn't worth it. I have never owned a phone that crapped out so terribly so quickly. It is the worst phone I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS PHONE!!! The speakers on this phone are phenomenal, the phone has no glitches, especially since the 6.0 update. It's smooth and I like a big screen, but not phablet size so this is perfect. I have no complaints at all and really excited to see what it can do hence another system update. I had tried another phone because i had gave my daughter this phone, but within days I returned and got my Alcatel 3 back! Awesome..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Phone!! I have had this phone for at least 2 years now! I've dropped it I have been using the same case that came with this phone for 2 years as well. No cracks scratches on screen or anything. I've Even dropped it on the face but again I have a case also. The scratches I do have are on my screen protector. This is an awesome phone the speakers are very loud. I'm not buying another phone! The charger is super fast!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Screen I have had mine for about six months and when the screen cracks it's 160 dollars to fix. I paid 200 for it not spend that much money to get it fixed when I can buy a new phone. I loved the phone up till the screen shattered

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent phone. It's a good phone for the price! It responds to touch just as good as any big name phone. Only thing I don't like is that it seems to get "overwhelmed" when trying to multi task. Eveb with less than 5 apps open. But overall I am pleased with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great speakers i bought this phone about two years ago when it was brand new, and it had been giving me hard problems like randomly restarting out of nowhere, but then it got the 6.0 update and stopped doing that, so i conlcluded that it was a sowftware issue and not a physical issue. nthe screen is very bright and vibrant! i have recently been looking to upgrade, and i am looking at the idol 5!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not too bad, I suppose So you want an inexpensive phone. Well, you have found one. It does the job. However, it doesn't do it very well. It's very slow. I was drawn to it's processor. It's stats are pretty good, but it's performance doesn't match the numbers. This should have been a faster phone than my previous phone, but even brand new it was slower than my loaded, 2 year old phone. After a year, it's so slow that it's becoming infuriating. The keyboard can't even keep up with typing. The home screen takes awhile to show it's icons when I wake it. It's truly a nuisance. But, it is a year old, and the memory is stretched quite thin. One thing is for sure, if your last few phones were Samsungs, you'll definitely notice the differences. Make no mistake, despite it's stats, you aren't getting the power or functions of a premium brand. What you are getting is out of your current, pricey contract phone, and into something affordable and functional.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY BAD I bought an Idol 3 on July 11th of 2016 and it cracked with just a madder of 3 months exactly, despite the fact of just having to live with the slightest cracks on my phone the whole screen was no longer usable, would not recommend!!
