Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was okay for a year... I've owned this phone for almost 13 months. The features are fine, except for the issues when the memory is full. Manufacturer warranty is a year. Software was upgraded a week ago, and now my camera won't open at all. Cricket referred me to Alcatel who pretty much said I'm out of luck (my power button also works only occasionally).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Phone I bought this phone because I like a phone that has good music quality. I have had this phone for several months and have not had any issues. People complaining about cracking the screen need to invest a couple of bucks for a screen protector, I've dropped mine and it works like brand new, always get a screen protector and case for your phone if you want it to last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great until you want to make or receive calls It looks great. All the "smart" features work well especially for the price. But the phone reception is terrible. It misses calls, drops calls and will not always make calls. It was a work phone, but my customers were complaining. I've switched back to my Zmax 2. I guess I'll use the Idol3 as a plex remote in the kids room.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It Was Good, At First At first I was happy with the Idol 3. The screen and sound are great. It is a little under powered. Starting some apps like mapmywalk causes a long delay compared to my Galaxy S4. It's really sluggish which surprised me since it shouldn't be. The primary problem for me is it stopped working with my vehicle's built in bluetooth after the most recent android update. It's a real flaw that there is apparently no solution to. You can hear them but they can't hear you. I tried going back to the previous version of Android, but it forces the update. There's no way to get support for this phone either you're on your own. I spent hours trying to figure out a solution, but couldn't find one. I went back to my old AT&T Galaxy S4 which is very long in the tooth, but it works just fine with Cricket. It's a shame because the phone could have been great, but since I can't use this phone's bluetooth while driving I can't recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from idol 4 is better I bought this 2 months ago to replace my Idol 4 but it was horrible I couldn't get 3 hours of battery life out of it and its soooo slippery

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4.5 stars technically so I gave it 5 I have had this phone for over 2 years and it works as good as the day I bought it. I heard the horror stories about how easily the screen cracks, how you can't drop it...ETC...ETC.. I am here to tell you that this phone is probably the second best phone I have ever owned, the best phone being my Sony Phone which is a 600 dollar phone. It works on par with any of the high end phones such as Samsung or Iphone, it has a respectable camera, and in spite of what other reviews say it is extremely durable. I have it in just a basic case and have dropped it countless times with no issue. The Battery life will last you 2 days when you buy it, after almost two years it now requires me to charge it more often as it only gets about 6-8 hours of battery life. This phone for the price is a steal and I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to get a solid phone but cannot afford the flagship phones of Samsung or Iphone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate this phone I bought this three months ago and the phone keeps over heating and the top speaker went out. I do not recommend this phone to anybody.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome phone I've had this for about a year now and I absolutely love it. Screen is a good size and the speakers are great, especially when we go to the drive in; listen to the movie on my phone. Games are good on it and pics are crisp and clear. Battery doesn't last as long as I would like, but I am on it alot. I've never had a single issue with it. Glad I went with it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well for the first few months... This is a budget phone. Pros: -it's loud and has decent sound -camera is pretty good Cons: -It doesn't have much storage, so it bogs down quickly -it's delicate: definitely needs a good case -the power/screen lock button is a weak element. I've had two of these now and both have had this button die after about 6 months of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from too good too be true...ain't no IDOL Was excited about reviews and price ...Bought 4 all last year. One died for no reason, another not keeping charged, gets very hot, malfunctions, distorted speaker, grainy camera pics, list goes on...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice phone, but has issues Bought this phone in January, and the power button stopped working as well as the charging port sometimes wouldn't charge. Sent it back for a replacement in September, and the new phone started with same issues in December. This phone has been Great other than the power button and charging port, I would have given it a five star.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very hot When I first got it it was a very hot to the touch it runs hot when I first got it before I use it and when I scroll to the springs and moving like it goes back like somebody else is controlling it like somebody hacked into it before I got it not really sure what apps comes on it or what somebody at his own but pretty nice

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good, works great. Pros: Slim and big screen, non-bulky with a slim case. Good screen resolution Takes nice pictures Doesn't lag unless you go over your data allowance Cons: keeps opening wifi links in my browser. How do I turn this off? 16 gb is perfectly adequate, but an SD card is needed if you download a ton of apps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great specs but.... This one has all the bells and whistles but the only problem is (like with every cricket phone I've ever bought) it only lasts for about a year. It'll gradually start to slow down, then It'll not hold a charge as long. Followed by the phone overheating to a point that you can't even keep it in your pocket.
Date published: 2018-01-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good phone until it's not. I've owned this phone for about 9 months. For the price, battery life, and storage it's a good phone. It does all the general functions as needed. Around the 6 month mark I noticed that the phone became very buggy over time. It stopped responding to commands and would reset multiple times through the day.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works great -- until the "on" button breaks Like others here have said, this phone sounds great, is thin and light, works well but after a few months, the power button WILL break.... and it's useless then. Don't waste your money with a company that knows this problem and continues to sell these phones that won't last more than a few months or so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough I dropped it in water, someone deliberately tried to break it, then dropped it in water again. It was like the energizer bunny, kept going. Finally it gave out. At the time I had to downgrade due to lack of funds and it sucks. I will be getting another Idol 3, can't wait. Oh, it takes amazing pics.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good Bought this a little less than a week ago and have had nothing but problems. Overheats easily. Bluetooth connectivity poor. I tried using it to navigate around an are I was unfamiliar with and Google Maps caused it to overheat and reboot multiple times forcing me to stop and reset the navigation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Badly designed power switch. Cheap off and on switch. It is mounted on mylar glued to plastic backer. I am a medium to low use and it did not make a year of use. Bought 3 Idol threes and 2 failed at six to nine months, the third is very low use. I loved everything else but the phone is useless when the switch fails.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty good phone The only thing I can complain about this phone is that after the update my phone wont connect to my computer anymore to look at my photos. Live recording isn't good either because it gets too fuzzy and you cant hear anything. Dont update the phone because some apps will stop functioning.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor video and pics I came from a galaxy s5 with a different carrier. We have average lighting in our living room and never had cam problems with the s5 but this idol 3 cam is awful. Videos are nearly black and pics are dark. Very disappointing when we have an infant and want to capture special moments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The features on this phone are excellent. I bought this phone a few months ago and have had no problems with it. Phone is fast and the 2 gigs of RAM memory allows the user to due multiple tasks at the same time. Both front and rear camera takes really good pictures. I would defiantly recommend this phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! I bought this phone right when it went on sale. It seemed perfect, however, immediately began having issues with charging and storage before it was even activated (I used it just as a camera for a bit). It got extremely slow despite my massive storage card and daily clearing of cache and built up pages and everything else. Once activated, it needed factory resets twice. It frequently restarts itself, the tap on/off feature doesn't work 90% of the time. Programs, apps, and google go unresponsive, the keyboard refuses to load when needing to type emails, searches, texts, or if using Google Docs. The phone stays extremely hot and won't hold calls. I had an issue with the screen going black permanently during calls for a while. The worst phone I've had, it still has charge issues. I've been toughing it out for almost a year but it seems to be on it's last leg. I'm very gentle with phones and have never dropped it or damaged it in any way. I got error messages straight after unboxing. Really disappointed because I saved up for this phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot send or receive picture messages I bought this phone 3 months ago and wish I had not. I have done everything possible to send and receive picture messages and nothing works. I would take a flip phone over this disappointment.
