Rated 4 out of 5 by from FAIR FOR THE PRICE I've owned all the Cricket Alcatel phones and have found that not every phone is going to be perfect. This Alcatel Streak is definitely fair for the price. I've had it for two days now and it's just like the other Alcatel phones but obviously smaller. The only thing I hate about this phone is it seems to have a slight delay when entering my pin to unlock the phone and because I'm naturally a fast typist, the keyboard can't seem to keep up with me, which is in my opinion part of the delay in the keyboard. The other thing that irritated me a bit is the fact that the upgrade fee is $25 which costs more than the phone itself. I've downloaded quite a few apps on my phone without the SD card and so far all is well. This is a good backup phone when you're in between phones like I am. I hope this helps anyone seeking a cheap backup phone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mediocre at best This was a temporary replacement for my old phone. I was broke, and needed a cheap something to switch to. I noticed it had significantly less features than other Android phones I'd owned, but it wasn't a huge deal. The battery life WAS okay, but after about 2 months, I was charging 2x a day. And with only moderate/regular usage, too! We'll call the battery life decent, because I have seen worse. Overall, I'm not disappointed, because it performed as well as expected of a $20 phone. It's not great, but it's NOT bad! I wouldn't recommend it for someone who uses their phone ALL day, but it makes for a great temporary phone, or a good option for someone new to the smartphone world.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for After breaking the screen on my other phone, i got this one as a temporary phone because i really needed one. camera quality is poor and after some time, my volume to watch videos stopped working, my ringer and ntifications sounds warped. Overall I got what I paid for...never again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Many Issues I had the LG Spree as my first phone. It was also $20, but had no issues whatsoever. I broke it and now I have the Alcatel Streak. It has many issues including ghost touch, turning on in the middle of the night after I turned it off, randomly muting the volume, and randomly hanging up on people during calls. It has decent sound quality, but an ugly display. I can see every little black line between the pixels. It's also very unresponsive and is difficult to type with. It has many issues, but for $20, I guess it's worth it, although the LG Spree is much better and the same price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Battery LIfe I've had it for a couple of weeks now. When using the phone you cant literally watch the battery percentage charge drop. I left it turned off and stored for 3-4 days, when I can back the battery was completely dead. This is turned completely off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Forget It. I hastily bought this phone when my HTC Desire touch screen stopped working after over a year. Never had any problems with the HTC. I'm on social security so needed an inexpensive replacement, at that time it was $19.99, but I would have been better off keeping my old phone and having to hit the screen 100 times for a response than to get this one. #1 Many of the people whom I call or who call me, cannot hear me, although I can hear them well. It's not just one person; #2 When on the phone with someone the phone will decide to call someone else out of nowhere and I either lose the call or it's put on hold (usually lose the call); #3 After making a call and hanging up, if I don't put the phone back in the start mode, it will call another number, usually the same one (not the one I was on with), no matter who I am talking to; #4 I am somewhat hearing impaired at 68 and the sound is not really adequate. It's often garbled. I can hear if people talk slow but not garbled. Again, this happens with several different people. #5 I can not find several numbers on my contacts, although when I hand dial it, it shows up on the screen as that company or person. I'm sure there are more, but these are the worst and all I can think of quickly as they happen ALL THE TIME. I don't know if I got a bad phone, but as it's reduced to $9.99 now, I think not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst phone in the history of phones stay away 4 months it keeps getting worse. while you are calling it calls every one on your contact list repeatedly if you put it down it calls people if you play a game and happen to have a google play account it will buy the game. The electronics are faulty today i went to turn it off and would not power down instead into safe mode, it will turn off location on a whim it will turn apps like wifi on and off it will turn work apps on and off . it is total garbage. By the way yes I am older but have worked in computers since 1976 absolute garbage answering the phone is a hassle you have to swipe to answer many times then it goes to voice then you call then back in the mean time as your calling back the call you just missed it calls EVERYONE who ever called on your contact list or otherwise. Battery last about an hour gee it uses the power you need to do things you don't I need to revise my rating garbage is much to high a rating for this phone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I have had this phone for about a month and a half now. Switching from a high end phone of the Galaxy S6 Active to this cheapy 20$ phone drove me insane. BUT overall, this phone is actually not too terrible of a phone. I cant use it like an all around "do everything" phone like a could my S6, but it gets the job done. It makes calls and sends texts. It even connects to my car so I can play music. That is about all its good for so dont expect much else. A couple issues though that drive me insane and cause me to switch over to my S6 as soon as i hit a wifi spot though are: 1) The screen is not heat sensitive I guess? Meaning that anything touching the screen will cause it to go haywire. Dust, dog hair, even fingerprint smudges and jeez does the screen smudge easily. Any time I want to send a text, I have to lock the phone, wipe it off, unlock it, type, and sometimes even repeat the process just to send ONE text. Very frustrating. This issue alone makes SWYPE unusable, scrolling Facebook impossible, and games unplayable. 2) The brightness slider bar does nothing. I mean NOTHING. You can slide the slider all the way to bright or all the way to dim and the screen will stay the same. You blind yourself at night, you cant see during the day. 3) The operating system takes up just over half the amount of memory on the phone and there is nothing you can do. I filled up my phone with just 5 or 6 apps. If you buy this phone, either dont download apps or invest in a memory card. 4) The camera kinda sucks, but hey its a cheap phone. Its poor quality and very dark. You also dont really have room on the phone for pictures and videos anyway so i guess it works out. There is also no flash which kinda sucks if you like to use your phone like a flashlight like me. Thats pretty much it. If you can move past these issues and just enjoy the fact that its a cheap smartphone that pretty much gets the job done, then I totally recommend this phone. I personally wont be keeping it much longer, but I do recommend it if you just want a simple smart phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really bad I have owned about 2 months. Everything about it is frustrating. I thought it was me so I decided to try to get used to it but it seems to have a mind of it's own. My screen calibration is off, hangs up and dials numbers even when away from my face and on speaker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not even worth $20 Have as a loner while my Idol is repaired under warranty for the third time. If you are use to a 'decent' phone this is terrible. Features are hit and miss as many of the complaints on the call quality and functions are accurate. Avoid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SEVERAL FEATURES DO NOT WORK I received this camera 2 days ago. I am returning this phone tomorrow. I only needed a simple phone. I talk and text (SMS) a few times a day, and send the occasional photo by text (MMS). This phone will not send a photo, even though it states that it does on the Cricket website.... Excerpt... "Dual Cameras With its 5 MP rear and 2 MP front cameras and HD video you have more than one way to take a pic. And, with a double press of the power key when the screen is off, instantly launch the camera, so you are always ready to capture that picture-perfect moment (THIS DOES NOT WORK). The STREAK also features Polaroid editing software that brings back the magic of the classic instant camera allowing you to frame, add borders and filters then quickly share to all of your favorite social sites and messaging applications" (THIS DOES NOT WORK). I have tried to send a photo (taken by the phone) several different ways. (NOTE: There is no option from within the camera to "share" a photo). You must go into an editor and attempt to send from there. I tried using GALLERY and POLAROID to share a photo via text and both messages say "sent" but a minute or so later I received a reply text saying "Message not sent". I also tried to write a text first and then do an attachment and had the same result. Like I said, I don't need a lot of features, and I don't think I am asking for a lot. But when advertised features don't work...that's just wrong. I could live with the dimly lit screen in the sunlight. I could live with relatively slow internet response time from a browser. The strength of the battery (as measured) is the lowest I have ever seen, but still it lasted me from morning till night because of my infrequent usage. But not being able to text a photo? Give me a break.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All the battery life you would expect for the pric This phone is the suck. I got it because I needed a new phone when my last one died, and it is terrible. The battery is awful and will not even last 2 hours if you have the screen on bright...I don't mean constant use either, I mean I accidentally left google running in the background while I was out grocery shopping, and I was getting notifications of a low battery in a couple of hours. The processing speed is awful, it has no memory, and it is generally just a really bad phone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for advanced Android users I got this phone for free because of 2g service going the way of the dodo bird. I figured I'd give it a try since it was free though I have a dual sim phablet I am happy with. It was okay the first but then things I really didn't like started happening. If you use any other music player besides the one that comes with the phone, it will most certainly crash. I can maybe listen to one song before the app I use for music suddenly closes. I don't have that problem on my phablet. Also, this phone is not compatible with my volume booster. As with most newer phones, the volume is awful, even turned up past the 'recommended' setting. Also, the '8gb' of space this phone has is taken up by pre-installed apps that cannot be uninstalled. You can uninstall the updates but Google Play will constantly remind you they need to be updated. I ended up having to get a memory card to take more than five pictures because there is not enough space for photos with the pre-installed apps. Another thing I don't like is, if you try to run more than two apps at once, the phone will eventually shut one of them down (probably the reason I can't use the music player if I'm browsing or playing a game). This is an okay phone but, if you have any experience with Android, you might want to pass up this very basic model. It functions well as a phone and that's just about it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was OK for a $25 phone... For the first 2 weeks I got this phone when it was $25... I guess they realize that it was only worth 10. Sure for $25 in a time crunch and on a budget... Let's say living paycheck-to-paycheck budget. It has worked for about a month but I'm getting ready to go into the store and upgrade tomorrow. It takes forever to register when you hit a button when Dialing for a call it's very slow all around. The only positive I could say about it is it does seem to have pretty good battery life

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nice computer; bad phone All my apps perform flawlessly. I have no trouble using a browser, navigation or listening to music. The native camera app is very simplistic, though. The memory is also fine for the price. So, this phone works great as a computer, especially considering the price. However, this phone is awful as a phone. I don't have trouble hearing others', but I frequently get complaints from the people I'm talking to that my voice is muffled and they can't understand me. This is the worst problem. Besides that, if you leave the display on while you're talking to someone, your cheekbone/cheek will disturb your conversation. I frequently mute my conversation by accident and I once somehow managed to open up my music player during a conversation using only my cheek. Also I can't figure out how to have texts vibrate my phone, so I can only notice a new text through sound.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I bought this phone yesterday. I can honestly say it is the absolute worst phone I hàve ever owned. I have been a cricket costomer many years and seriously thinking of switching. A 19.99 phone ended up with tax and activation , cozting me $50. and its by far worst. Every call cuts in and out, static and drops calls. I was excited to find a reasobly priced phone. Really disappointed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't use the phone - Locked I bought the phone on 11/8. Attempted to use phone on 11/10 and got the "need the previous Google Account" to unlock phone. Called Cricket Customer three times and spending a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes on the phone. The phone is still not working. Such a frustrating situation, I just gave up. Currently looking into another carrier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good For The Price Not very responsive, so it's difficult to text. It has a nice design, small phone but big screen. It's not very fast either. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Storage space.....not enough I am a teenager and like my social media. However they take up a lot of space. The 8GB's of store space was not enough. I had to update to a 16GB phone. But if you are looking for a phone with the basics this phone is pretty good. Great first phone!
