Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent phone for the price! I've had this phone for over a year and only had a few issues. At one point my phone wasn't getting any calls so the manufacturer sent me a new one. It took 2 weeks. Sometimes when I make a call I have to put it on speaker at first otherwise the person I'm calling can't hear me. It's got two small scratches on the front from using it without a case. The camera isn't the best but you get what you pay for. And it wants to update but requires more storage than I have. A little disappointed that cricket doesn't give its loyal customers discounts like they do for new ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my phone Bought this phone 1 month ago and I really love it. Really barely getting to know most features but so far no problems. Battery really lasts long.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fine for a few days... I bought this phone about a week or so ago. It was a decent phone. Then my calls kept getting dropped. Both incoming and outgoing calls were cutting off before I could even answer or dial out. Called Cricket several times. Kept telling me to take out my battery and SIM card. So, i just went back to using my old ZTE phone and i have had no problems. Couldnt return the Samsung because the 7 days had passed already. The screen is also a bit slow in responding.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible, just horrible. This phone is horrible. If you do not think that it is horrible, you have never had a decent phone. I am convinced, just like when reading reviews about other products, that the people who give bad products good reviews just do not know any better. Because if a person has ever had even a decent phone, they would know how bad this phone is. It is slow and sluggish. There is limited options in terms of functions and streamlining and literally everything else about the phone. The touch screen is not precise. It's like the outside looks new, but everything on the inside is from 2000. Of course the camera is bad too, and also the camera functions, i.e., only being able to access the single photo you just took from the camera interface without having to back out and find the gallery elsewhere to find all pics. And the rest of the non-functionality follows along this route. Do not get - there are MUCH better options everywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get more than you pay for The other reviews about this phone having a slightly subparagraph camera are correct, but that's not a problem for me. I don't want every wrinkle on my forehead to be over exaggerated by super-hi-def anyhow. The camera still does a pretty good job, but for the price, the other features can't be beat. I have no slowness issues, the screen is vivid and responsive, the size is just right, cheap case even feels pretty secure. I foresee this phone lasting a good long while. And since theives know what to look for in the higher models, I'm not saying it's impossible for them to steal, but being so cheap I doubt they'd try cause they won't make much money from it. Even if it was lost or stolen there's awesome tracking software as reliable as the higher models. Great amount of memory space. Also, I did put in a 500 gb memory card (yes 500 gb, not 500 mb) and it's working perfect too. My only potential fear with malfunctioning is a virus (which has dfndr built in too from day 1) Very happy with this device.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the worst cell phones I have ever purchased I bought and about two weeks later. The phone would not rotate the screen and it start freezing up. It is definitely a bad purchase. Don't spend your money on it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from SAMS GALAXY AMP PRIME 2 - VIRTUALLY NO DEV MEMORY Start-up when I received the phone was fairly simple but I had help from my husband to do it. Once everything was in place, it functioned (initially) wonderfully with certain exceptions. There is confusion of pictures between the gallery and 'photos' and trying to delete pix, for example. I always have to look up how to do it - shouldn't be that difficult. It was my fault I hadn't focused on the device memory - 8 gb. My prior phone had 16, and what a huge difference. The transfer of info from my Nexus 4 (Cricket couldn't take this phone) was 7 gb. So I'm ALWAYS having to clean the memory. Yes, it has an SD Card, but even with much being transferred into the card, I still have to 'clean' and purge EVERY WEEK. I would recommend when you are searching for a phone, the internal device memory must be at least 16 gb. So because of the device LACK OF memory, most of the apps respond VERY SLOWLY, whether it's phone calls or clicking on the weather or FB. My Nexus 4 still has wifi capability and it responds more easily and readily than this one, so I keep it for Internet activity when wifi is available. I'm in the process of researching for another phone on the Cricket site and welcome input. The phone I wanted has a 'c' cord, which I don't want.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Phone! This is a good phone, works great, I think some of the bad reviews come from people that purchase a $100 but are expecting the quality of a brand new iPhone. It hasn't given me a problem once, it looks great, sounds great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is THE WORST phone I have EVER had! It's hard to make calls about half of the time. Sometimes I my phone doesn't ring when I get calls. It had the lowest amount of memory, and even though I have a SIM card, it's still difficult to store pics and video, which is of low quality in the first place. There's ALWAYS something going on wrong with this phone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My new samsung amp prime 2 I've had this phone about 3 weeks. I'm liking it very much. I did a bit of research and chose this samsung model for it's features, screen & body size, weight, processor, camera etc. against 2 other models and im quite pleased.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total Letdown The phone worked well enough for a couple months, a few little quirks here and there. 3 days ago the phone and/or the screen stopped coming out of sleep mode, I have to physically take out the battery to restart it if I leave it to sit for more than a few minutes, very disappointed,

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Amp Prime 2 vs J3 POP I bought this almost a month ago and the phone works fine. I ordered the Amp Prime 2 and a case for it. Everything says the phone is a J3 POP phone; my line shows it is an amp prime 2. The case is a good 1/2" shorter than the phone ...one that looks like a wallet. I was told that I have the Amp. 2 phone. Sand the case fits you should check it out again I said I am looking at and the phone won't. Fit. Of ,purse they have a rule that you cannot Return the item. So I am out the 10.00 and I am taking it to goodwill!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around phone Know that I prefer Android over Apple (in terms of operating system). This phone does everything it needs to, and well. Great cameras, solid connection to WiFi, easy to navigate interface. The screen is large enough and clear enough to see and read everything. If you want animoji and VR, then spend 600+ $ on a phone. If you want a smart phone that does its job - get this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Longevity I've had this phone for almost 3 years and it's still up and running. The camera quality is standard, not like what you would get from a high-priced iPhone. I've even dropped it multiple times (regretfully) and it's still working! I will say that the storage life is poor. After a few apps, it won't hold much else. But, overall, if you need something affordable, I'd get it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not too shabby! I've bought this phone about a couple weeks ago, coming from the Apple family (I got tired of having a phone I couldn't fully customize and redesign), and boy oh boy was i surprised! It met my needs, and I can't complain. For the price, this is more so a budget Samsung Galaxy, compared to the high-end devices that cost an arm and a leg to buy if you bought it full price. Hence the reason you can't be mad at the functionality of this phone. The AMOLED display is amazing, it's running the newest software, the battery lasts just about the whole day with moderate usage, and it runs smoothly if you don't run too many tasks on it all at once. The only thing I CAN say that's kind of a bummer for the phone is the camera. Like i said before, you can't stay mad at the downsides of the phone due to it's amazingly affordable price. The camera is "eh". It gets the job done, it's nothing spectacular. In low lighting, you won't be satisfied. In daylight, the pictures are acceptable. I've read all the other reviews and some customers are mad at the fact that it only has 16GB. Well, you know what? Just purchase a microSIM and pop it in the phone, they don't cost that much guys. Be thankful Cricket actually has an affordable Samsung Galaxy that feels comfortable in the hands, and gives you that Galaxy experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Have patience? I just bought this phone and it is by far one of the worst galaxy phones I have ever had. It constantly freezes, closes windows, closes texts mid typing and have to start all over, side buttons are un responsive constantly. Charging takes so long, even with samsung fast chargers. Makes me wonder if cricket sold me a refurbished phone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent for the price but not great There are features that don't work properly. The auto-rotate only works half the time. Other times I have to turn off the auto-rotate then turn it back on. And if that still doesn't work then I have to turn off the phone and restart it. THEN the screen will rotate with the phone. Also the connectivity on the GPS won't always connect, even if the internet is functioning in other apps. Again, I have to turn off the phone and restart it to het the GPS app to connect. Overall okay for the price but I would not recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thick glass cover I recently purchased this phone because of the great deal. Well, the Google Maps does not verbalize and when I called for help they told me to go to Google internet. I am not happy with this phone. And the glass cover too thick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best phone for the price If your on a budget and love Samsung this is the phone for you. Call quality is amazing and clear, and come threw , and the phone is fast . Great for surfing the web and checking social media and emails. It can slow down with lots of apps open but if you can manage the tabs you will be fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed :( Never had an issue with any Samsung phone, but this one waa by far so bad that within 2 months I bought a different phone from a different manufacture. Just like anything in life, this just may have been the one bad one. Hope everyone else has good luck with theirs...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Samsung I have ever had This phone, freezes, kicks you out of apps, echos, has to be put on speaker to talk or have anyone hear you, has to be rebooted every day by taking battery out, second one i have through manfacturer warranty, needs to be recalled, also over heats constantly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comes loaded with adware This phone is so loaded with adware that it is almost impossible to use. If you want to make a call, you have to go through screen after screen of ads. Some of the ads are scams to make you think you need to click on them in order to "fix" your phone

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Freezing up regularly I bought this phone almost a month ago because it had good reviews. I guess that's a lesson learned don't always believe what you read in these reviews. The screen freezes up while I am reading emails. The speaker is poor quality.
