Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON"T BUY THIS PHONE This phone freezes often and restarts on it's own all the time, for no reason. In the middle of typing a message and it will freeze or start flashing to other screens. When it freezes it never unfreeze so I have to hold the power button down until it restarts. Battery drains pretty quickly so I have to take my charger with me everywhere I go. Also, when you touch the screen it doesn't always register that you're touching it. Absolutely hate it! It also sucks that there's no battery to take out. Worst purchase ever and the people at the store are no help at all. I left Cricket years ago and came back with my original phone number and now I wish I didn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freezing/Rebooting Issues Fixed w/Software Update! For all the people that gave this phone a one star rating because it was freezing, randomly rebooting, and/or causing certain apps to act weird, it wasn't the phone, it was the software. An update was pushed out a few weeks ago and the issues have cleared up! If you're still having trouble, call Cricket support and tell them you need the latest software push. I was at the point of trying to decide whether to send my phone in to ZTE for a replacement or throw the darn thing off the nearest freeway bridge! I'm glad I held off, everything is perfectly fine now and I'm back to loving my phone again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone for the price. I really love this phone. The most important feature for me was the camera. So far I have been very pleased with it. I have found it to be good indoors and great outdoors. With regard to the phone's RAM, memory and speed, the first thing I did with the phone was to delete all the extra apps that it let me. Once I did that, I had no problem with memory or speed. I also really like the fingerprint reader, which is a feature that is hard to find with a phone in this price range. Finally, the phone is very big. Unless you have really large hands, be prepared to use two hands to operate the phone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ZTE Blade X Max Pros and Cons I purchased the phone on the release date. I originally had the ZTE Grand Max X 2, and Blade X Max is very similar. After having an issue with the pinch and zoom feature not working all the time, ZTE sent me a new phone. It is working now. Pros. I love bigger screens, so the 6 inch screen is great. Clear and bright screen. 32 gb memory is also a great feature. Reasonably priced at $149.99. Cons. Like the ZTE Grand Max 2, the video playback stops after a minute and you have to keep pressing the play button. I had the same issue on both phones. Also every so often, the phone just restarts by itself. Overall, it is an OK phone, but waiting to save for the new Samsung Note.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price for a great phone Nice phone great features. I upgraded from the Stylo 2, I was a little skeptical at first cause I'm already use to the LG series, but this was money well spent. This phone comes with 32GB internal storage which I think is very decent for a $149.00 price tag you won't regret it. Also the screen looks very bright. I played some youtube videos and wow let me tell you, I was really impressed with the quality very sharp and smooth. You can also add an sd card. I added a 32gb sd card and formatted as an internal storage which I have a total of 64GB. I would suggest getting this phone before they raise the prices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HTC One to ZTE My husband did not want to change phones, but had no choice when I switched him from Sprint to Cricket. He really likes his new phone. He likes the size, which I wasn't sure he would since it is about an 1" bigger than the HTC. I played with it on our trip to Idaho and the thing takes better pictures than my Cricket LG Stylo and his HTC One even though they both have a 13mp cameras. ZTE pictures come out much better. Panorama is Awesome and easier to use on the ZTE. I bought him a case on Amazon for 7.49 :) Very happy with purchase at this point in time. I want one now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not an Upgrade at All--Total Disappointment I have had this for a month and have already decided I HATE THIS PHONE. Even with a 13 MP camera, the pictures more often than not turn out okay at best, unacceptable often. Slowest camera ever. I had an older low-end Samsung and I bought into all of the positive reviews. As this phone is newly released, I should have waited. I am currently on vacation and so many picture opportunities have been lost because this camera is god-awful. I am saving up to buy a Samsung or maybe an iPhone. Do research. Find a better phone with a better camera. I should have just saved my money, kept my old phone, and researched better to find a way better phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Phone With Some Quirks For a 32GB phone the ZTE is great. I also liked the fact that I could format an sd card to be used as internal memory. The phone is pretty fast and seems to work pretty well, with a few exceptions. The phone reboots at least once a day, usually when I'm driving which disconnects my bluetooth. Also this phone doesn't connect as easily to some of my bluetooth devices, so I have to go into settings and connect some devices manually (on occasion). If it weren't for these two quirks, I would have given it five stars. It still seems like a great value for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Some good features - very poor quality phone I had this phone for less than a month when it stopped holding a charge, would not link to my car and stopped recognizing my finger print and locking me out of the phone. I paid $129.00 for the phone - 3 weeks later because I purchased the insurance, I had the choice of sending the phone and $75. to the manufacturer and wating to get a refurbished one or taking $55. trade in value and getting a different phone...The phone has a great screen a killer camera and alot of other features but costs way too much to last 3 weeks, and it has a worse re-sell value than a car... Cricket should make the manufacture reimburse buyers but I doubt they will...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has it all except for... The storage and display are outstanding. After installing a 128GB card it integrated it with the system storage to give 160GB. The speaker is weak but when combined with a good set of buds it really will impress you with the sound. The only bad thing is the 2GB of RAM. Android 7 is eating up 768MB alone. With the rest of the stuff that has to be running for the phone to work I am left with about 400MB of free memory. If you have 3 or more apps open at once expect to have some in the background close on you

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BY FAR THE WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER OWNED!!! I purchased this phone 2 months ago. After using the phone for 1 day, the phone would freeze and then shut itself off. I thought, okay maybe it's just a glitch in this phone. Took it back ( since I was still in my 7 days ) and they swapped it out for another ZTE blade. This phone constantly freezes and shuts itself off. I'm not talking about shut itself off and come back on, this phone will freeze and shut itself off for an hour or longer. SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY AND OF COURSE THEY WILL ONLY SWAP IT OUT FOR ANOTHER ZTE BLADE. Why would I want a 3rd phone like this one.. when the first two didn't work??? I would not even give this phone 1 star!!
Date published: 2017-12-28
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hopeful the glitches can be fixed I love the phone overall but I have owned this phone two weeks now and like other reviewers have mentioned, this phone is glitch. Randomly pauses any video source after a few minutes and will do so every 2-3 minutes the duration of the video or movie. Music stops after any notification. While typing the keyboard will randomly close. If these issues can be fixed the phone is easily 5 stars but if not ZTE shot a dud. I would not recommend the phone at this time but if fixed I certainly would.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love the phone, however I received my phone on May 22. I loved everything about it. It was user friendly, I got everything set up the way I wanted. I was so excited about it. Then 4 days later, it crashed. It would not respond to anything. I took out the sim card and re-inserted it. I could only do a hard restart. Then it would always take me back to the pin# screen, but the touch pad would not respond. The next day I took it to a Cricket store and one of the employees worked with it awhile and even did a factory reset on it...NOTHING. So I returned it, and got the same phone. I still love the phone and if they can get the issues resolved, I would give it a 5 in a heartbeat. So far the replacement is doing great in the week that I have had it. I recommend it with caution. It is an awesome phone, too bad it still has some bugs to work out. Hopefully the issues are isolated to only a small number of the phones out there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good phone. with one small drawback. i got this phone 5 days ago, coming from the alcatel idol 4. the blade x max is a better phone in gernal. great camera, and a gorgeous screen. it is very large so unless you like large phones, dont get this. the fingerprint sensor is great and easy to use. my only complaint is that it does stutter with some minor processes. but it gets back to work very quickly. the battery life on this phone is great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, What a great phone!!! Finally 32 Gigs of memory! With a usable memory card! Can hold all of my apps. Love this phone, after having this phone for two weeks I finally have it set up the way I want it. Sinks up easily with amazon dot, car, house stereo, wire less speakers and head sets. Videos on You Tube work great, and the sound is much better on the phone speakers than my old phone. Love the finger print scanner, works fast and perfectly. Love the 6 inch screen size, makes looking at pictures, videos, or reading so much nicer. Can even tether my ipad with it. Huge battery, can last for days on a single charge and charges back up quickly. Great sounding phone calls and better reception. Every thing just works the way it should. I would have paid twice the price and still been thrilled with this phone. I suggest getting one quick before demand out runs supply!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I got the Zte Blade x Max on the day it was launched. I'm so impressed. The screen is as clear or more than a iPhone. It's fast when playing videos, browsing. Well it's pretty fast with everything. The camera and fingerprint reader work instantly no lag. The phones user interface is modern and sleek. This is worth every penny. I highly recommend it. It's a great upgrade from the ZTE Grand Max x 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved Bluetooth problem I was going to return the phone because of Bluetooth problem with Streaming data although I love the rest of the features. Finally my car dealer told me to this : 1. Go to Setting 2. Go to Aps 3. Click ... at top and choose show System 4. Clcik on BlueTooth Share 5. Click on Storage and Clear Data 6. Click on Force Stop 7. Restart your phone. The above solved the problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I recently bought this phone and at first I was so happy everything was going well. I had read the first few reviews and they were all 5 stars. THIS IS VERY MISS LEADING!!! If you scroll down past that all the reviews are 1 star. A few days after I bought it all the problems started to uncover. YouTube will stop in the middle of a video and the whole screen will go black, it would kick me out of facebook messenger, and now today it randomly started restarting itself and didn't stop until I just powered it off and left it there for a while. This phone doesn't have a very good speaker and can barely run Pandora while being on another app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement for the Nexus 6! I'm surprised just how much I like this phone. I broke my Nexus 6 screen and to replace it would have been over $250 so thought I'd try this phone. The size is perfect for me. It's fast and as others have said, the fingerprint reader is instant - surprisingly fast. I was worried about how much bloatware might be on the phone that were undeleatable. There is almost none. It is very close to the stock Android experience I'm used to and wanted. The only app that you can't delete that I wanted to was Deezer. But you can deactivate it so no big deal, it takes up very little space. I used the feature to get configuration from a nearby phone and it installed everything and everything just worked. I didn't have to manually re-install all my apps and it even brought over all my setup stuff like saved wifi networks, etc. My one and only caution so far is that the slick plastic case makes it like trying to hold on to a wet bar of soap! I've ordered a case for it to make it easier to keep a hold of, but am being very careful since it would be very easy to drop the phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great phone, bad software The phone itself is amazing for the price and a solid upgrade from the grand x max 2. All the problems have been resolved and it has a lot of nice new features. Love the fingerprint scanner, Facebook videos work now, and you can mount an SD card as internal storage. The screen is nice and sensitive, it looks great, and it's very responsive. As far as the hardware goes it's a winner. The problem is in the software. It comes with all kinds of adware apps that will crash the phone if you don't remove them. Once removed the phone immediately starts working better. I'm guessing zte got paid to install that garbage. Then the zte branded apps like messaging, email, and so on are all functional, but severely lacking in options. For instance the stock email app has a bright orange interface with no way to change it. To solve this you will need to find better apps at the play store. It's resolvable, but I expected more. I still give it 4 stars based on it being good hardware for the price point. I can't give it 5 because between removing the adware and then having to find better apps for all the basic functions, they made it a huge nuisance getting the phone into a good state.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really awful phone I purchased this phone as a upgrade from the horrible Grand Maxx 2 thinking that they had taken care of all of the software issues. To my surprise it's the same phone with the same issues. The camera is pretty much useless, the phone freezes up all the time and has to be restarted daily, videos when you press play quickly go to end, and when you call customer service the only option is to send the phone in and be without it for seven to ten business days. Do yourself a favor and run as far away as humanly possible from ZTE phones. Cricket knows about the issues and still continue to sale this device. Mind blowing

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Occasionally it Freezes! ... Got this phone for my son. He wanted a bigger display (5.5" to 6"). He said he likes everything about it except it freezes up around once per week. He's had several other Android Phones, including ZTE phones. ... The only other real issue he has is the memory. It can fill up rather quickly. He stated that he received a Cricket Update today and is hoping it will be a remedy for the above mentioned issues. Otherwise, he truly enjoy the phone. He's had it for a little over a month now. Hope this helps!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not an Iphone I guess I didn't expect top quality, but since I've had an iPhone for 4 years and now switched to the ZTE blade, it quite a drop in quality. The main issue is the constant pop up ads, they will drive you crazy. Not exactly a ZTE issue, but more of a Cricket service thing. Crickets prices are cheaper, and there's a reason for it I guess. Even my four year old iPhone 5 has a faster processor than my new ZTE Blade. But overall, the phone is decent quality. Basically it kinda like I was flying in first class, and now I'm in coach. Not the end of the world, but certainly a step down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ZTE Blade X Max barely manage to set any benchmark Bought this 2 weeks ago replacing my Nexus 6 which broke. Checked the hardware and had lots of expectations but seems to be far low than expected. Not like to be a long pole but practically this phone is not for anyone looking for performance and 24 hour use with multiple apps. I have to restart the phone almost couple of times in a day especially while driving and using the navigation. The cricket apps fails to work correctly. Basically this does not stand anywhere to the 2 year old Nexus 6. This phone will surely be good for people using it lightly. - Subhashish Prasad

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be better! I bought this phone about a month ago. I was torn between this and the LG stylo and I am VERY dissapointed with my decision. You can't steam videos and listen to music on it because it stops every minute or so. The key board does the same thing.... It just stops in the middle of typing. Yes the battery and storage is nice but it very difficult to use because of these issues. I've already done 2 hard resets on the phone and it still has these problems. Don't buy this phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hmmmmmmmmm This is one great phone. Have had tons of other phones that worked but had little issues. All the Moto phones and Mate 9 just to mention a few. I actually had to turn the screen brightness down a tick! I currently own a Nexus 6 which has been the best phone I have eve had. This new ZTE is right there with it :) Do not hesitate, if you or someone you know is in the market for a new phone, buy the ZTE Blade X. You will not regret it :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade Only had it 2 days, but so far, very impressed. Big 6" screen, fast fingerprint, good battery life 32gb storage plus sd card. This is not a flagship phone but at less than 1/4 the price, who cares? If you're looking for a reasonably priced big screen phone, this is it. Cricket, please continue releasing phones with 32gb+ onboard storage and the latest version of android with updates.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wow this phone is horrible There are so many glitches and issues: - Phone overheats - Apps freeze often - Battery dies fast - The alarm clock will not allow you to swipe up to turn it off - Pictures do not load on the browser - The browser pulls up your last closed page on bookmarks - The phone calls are hidden and sometimes you cannot swipe to hang up. Basically the call screen disappears and there are other screens you have to swipe away to get to it. It should be the main screen during and there is an icon that is supposed to stay up that flashes green but it disappears sometimes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Want to give 5 stars, should give 3 but ended up 4 Originally, when I purchased this phone, I wanted to upgrade to a 6" screen. Have had this phone for roughly two months plus now but during my shopping, this phone had the specs (or most of the specs) I was looking for. The previous phones that I've enjoyed are: 1) the 2015 Alcatel Idol 3 (watch included). Purchased the first one from another source. Sim tray got hung up. Damaged the phone. Truly enjoyed that one. Got another one from Cricket. Is ok but a little slower (laggy vs. the first one). 2) the ZTE ZMAX 2 was and still is a solid build! 3) the ZTE Grand X4 has been a nice addition with exception of the occasional loss of volume at times (alarm clock/gps voice). 4) the Blu Life One X2 has great specs. However, I used 3 different anti-virus apps and all detected some form of spyware, trojan or other virus right out of the box. Not very comforting. On a side note, I tend to use 2 different phones, swapping at times: One for work and play. (The "I don't mind if it gets damaged" phone) and one for casual (usually use for weekends and various outings). Now for the good vs. the bad on this phone. Like I said earlier, this phone had promise. The bigger screen (nice and responsive). The better camera specs (pictures seem to be sharp and clear). The fingerprint reader is very dependable. The battery life has been very good (although I'm not a gamer, I do use some data/battery for Maps, viewing online videos, taking pictures and videos, calls and some texting. Overall, probably considered a moderate daily user. The volume of the phone is very loud but just like the ZTE Grand X4, I've had the volume drop down for no reason. It's happened while using Maps a couple of times. The 32 gigs of internal storage is definitely helpful (plus microSD slot for up to 128 GB card). The 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor seems to be ok but I just wonder if this could be part of the problem for the freezing. This is where I have my beef, I've had the phone freeze up on me 6 different times (while on FB, Maps and Camera). Gotta admit, it's very frustrating! Am just wondering if it's going to get worse over time? I do use my phone for more than what I've mentioned. However, I also enjoy purchasing the low budget android phones ($200.00 and less) as technology advances. Other than the two issues mentioned above, I really like this phone! On a side note, with all of my phones, I purchase a belt clip case. For me, any phone 4.5 inches takes up a lot of space in my pants pocket. Just have to remember the belt case can get caught on chair arms and break. Like I said in the title, I wanted to give it 5 Stars but the freezing issue made me end up giving it a 4 Star. I still like ZTE phones and hope they can clear up the freezing issue. That ZTE ZMAX 2 (my first ZTE) was a great all around phone for the price! Good luck with your search.
