Valentine’s Day 2021: Cricket Offers Tips for Turning Your Cell Phone into Cupid

Due to continuing concerns over the coronavirus, many will choose to spend Valentine’s Day from the comfort and safety of their homes. But never fear—love always finds a way.

Whether you’re under the same roof as your Valentine or you’re currently in a long (or social) distance relationship, there’s plenty of ways to keep romance alive. In fact, Cricket Wireless has a few tips to help you tap into the power of love using that ever-present conduit of romance, your cell phone.

Tip #1 – A selfie is worth a thousand words.

Use your wireless phone to say, “I love you,” “I miss you” or “I’m thinking of you” without ever uttering a word. How? With pictures, of course. All you have to do is find (or stage) the perfect romantic backdrop, strike an irresistible pose, snap several gorgeous selfies (costume changes and filters are allowed) and then send them throughout the day to your Valentine.

Here’s another thought: If love has been in the air for a while, chances are you have plenty of couples’ pics stored in the cloud. If so, simply select some of your favorite photos and videos of you and your sweetheart and put them into a shareable album. This way, whether you’re together or apart, the two of you can spend part of Valentine’s Day strolling and scrolling through your mobile pictorial memory lane.

Tip #2 – I stream, you stream, we all stream for love!

Who doesn’t enjoy a great Rom-Com, especially on Valentine’s Day? While a date to the movies may not be the ticket for many couples, you can still enjoy a romantic, popcorn-filled movie night at home. This is a great idea if you’re together or apart—just agree on the flick and the start time. HBO Max, for example, has a great selection of Romance Movies for Valentine's Day. So go ahead and sign up today and stream until your hearts content.

Tip #3— Why search for love when you can research it?

“R” isn’t just for romance, it’s also for research—and your phone’s search engine is primed and ready to help you discover all kinds of fascinating facts about the origins of Valentine's Day. For example, did you know that the first Valentine was sent in the 15th century? Or that Americans spent more than $20 billion on Valentine’s Day gifts in 2019? Research can be passionately exciting, especially if you do it with the one you love. If you don’t believe me, try it. I bet you’ll fall in love.

Tip #4 – The cells are alive with the sound of music.

Your cell phone has several musical options to help you strike the right romantic chord this Valentine’s Day. For starters, when love calls, you better answer, right? To help make sure you do, consider assigning a special ringtone to your sweetheart so that any time he or she calls, a special love song will play. This will not only alert you to take the call, it will also serve as a loving reminder of all the reasons you want to.

On another note, since music and romance go hand in hand, consider creating a special Valentine’s Day playlist that can either be enjoy while you’re together or shared and played if you’re apart. You can either select songs that hold special meaning for the two of you or you can create a love song lineup that will create a romantic mood.

These are just a few wireless Valentine’s Day tips from Cricket that will hopefully inspire you to keep romance alive and safety top of mind.
