How the Cricket Military Deployment Plan Works
When you’re called into active military duty service and can’t take your Cricket service with you, we can hold your phone number for you for up to 36 months. Once you’re back in the states, you have up to 90 days to re-subscribe to cell phone service. You can switch to this plan whether you are being deployed or are currently deployed.
The plan covers 36 months plus a 90-day grace period. After 39 months, the phone number will be deactivated and recycled.
What You Need to Do to Get on the Plan
Just call Customer Service and give us your last name and date of birth. It’s that easy!
What to Expect While on the Plan
Before switching to the plan, you will be unenrolled from AutoPay to avoid paying an unnecessary bill. While on the plan, wireless voice, data, and voicemail services will be turned off. You will also lose any existing voicemails you have saved. You will still be able to log in and view your account. If your account has more than one line, you will be able to log in My Account or the myCricket App to manage your other lines.
What to Do When You’re Back Home
Once you’re back home, you have 90 days from the final day of your deployment to re-subscribe to cell phone service. We will send you a text reminding you to re-activate your service. To re-activate your service, just call Customer Support.
Unlock Policy for Active Military
If you're in the military and need expedited unlocking prior to deployment, please call Customer Support at 1-800-CRICKET (1-800-274-2538) or dial 611 from your Cricket phone.
If you can't meet the 6-month service requirement because of active deployment in the military, Cricket will unlock one phone for you. You must meet all the other requirements and provide documentation of your deployment status.
