Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 175.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why pay more The speed of the phone is fast enough to be productive, even through the cricket network, including watching Youtube. Internal storage is 16 mb which is enough to add many other apps not just social media, email, twitter and the like without slowing the computing power. The screen is large enough to enjoy video playback or work on a spreadsheet yet hold in one hand. NFC allows Tap-n-Pay, very convenient and secure. Internal sensors allow the use of accurate navigation. GPS sensor works without a network. I use a rubberized case without screen protection. I understand the glass can be broken easily, The Wifi direct doesn't work and I believe it can be fixed with a software upgrade.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable Bought the phone 1 year ago, and it still works like it did when I bought it. Average speed, fantastic camera when there's good lighting (Absolutely horrible in low light or bright sunny days), and the battery life is good usually, and when it's not, a restart fixes it. It freezes and lags a lot though, when you open an app such as snapchat, sometimes it opens in 5 seconds, sometimes you wait 30. Sometimes an app will just randomly freeze, and the phone will either shut off or completely close everything and send you to the lock screen, as well as random touch responsiveness issues. Other than that, it's a decent phone for $100, but I can't recommend it to anyone that can spend more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DROPPED CALLS!!!!! Do not buy this phone. It has terrible connectivity. It drops calls constantly. I bought this phone and had to return it a week later because I couldn't hold a conversation with anyone. Sent the phone out to be repaired TWICE and it still had the same issue. It's a useless device. I stopped using it two to three months after purchasing it. I couldn't take it anymore. Read the reviews on this phone before purchasing it. I'm not the only person that had this issue. It's a common problem with the Idol 3. Alcatel has no fix for it either and I will never buy another phone made by them. Lesson learned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the features on this phone!!! I bought this phone three days before my birthday and I really like its features. Especially after the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update no lag love the camera quality. The number 1 feature I like about this phone is that when you unlock it you can use you eyes to unlock it. Weird but COOL!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I loved this phone, until the screen cracked I've had my Idol 3 for a little under a year. It's worked great, and I've never had a problem with it overheating or being super buggy. There are times when it gets warm, but it did not cause any issues. Overall, it's fast, has good battery life, and I didn't have issues with the 16 GB version. However, as mentioned in a lot of reviews, the screen is not very durable. I had it in my pocket and must have bumped it somehow because the screen cracked, but my screen protector was still in good condition. Now the screen is unresponsive, and it's $125 to fix. It's a wonderful phone, but beware the screen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally, a phone I can HEAR on. Although I've only had my phone a week now, it's a keeper. I wear an old timey hearing aid, so the hearing aid compatibility settings on most phones will not work with my hearing aid. This is the 4th phone I've bought trying to find one loud enough for me to hear on and this one is it! The ring tone and sound notification are loud enough for me to hear when I have my h. aid turned off and I can hear when I'm talking to someone on the phone without the buzzing noises that my hearing aid usually picks up.There are many choices of sounds to pick from when the phone rings or you have a text message coming in. Since I busted my last phone, I decided to buy a wallet case for this phone and am glad I did 'cause I have dropped it a few times and still works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone for the money I have had this phone for about a year now and love it. I haven't had any problems, and this is the first time I haven't been itching to get a new phone at the one year mark. If I was going to complain about anything, it would be the space, but even that isn't a huge problem. I think it's worth it for the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inexpensive and meh I've had this phone (2 of them now) for a little over a year and I already feel like this phone is outdated. The power button broke on the first one after about 7 months and then the same happened to the replacement after 2. I've been using a special app to turn the screen on and off for months so I don't have to buy a new phone. The display is nice, but the camera is only good in super bright light. It's also pretty slow and glitchy these days. Don't expect this phone to last you long. It feels too big to me too, but I like a smaller phone & have small hands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best phone for android users Best phone that I have owned. Really like that I can uninstall apps that come preloaded on the phone freeing up more memory for the apps that I really need. Dual front speakers are awesome super loud, 16gb memory is great download all my apps from the old phone and still have memory left over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best phone compared to others This is my second Alcatel Idol Touch 3. I love it the only reason I had to get it replaced was because I cracked the screen. When looking for a replacement phone I did NOT find any other phone that was as great as the Alcatel Idol 3, yes not even the IPhones or Samsung Galaxy 7. When compared to these phones I cant understand how Alcatel out beats the more expensive brands. Alcatel Idol 3 has the BEST pictures! I believe front camera is 8mp AND front is 12mp! for someone who loves taking pictures this is very important! I researched the other phones and can you believe not even the IPhone beats this! Don't believe me? Research it yourself! You will not find another phone that will be this great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good while it lasted I bought this phone back in feb of this year. Basically 10 months of use. Started over heating a couple of months ago. Power button has begun to give me issues now within the last month. Screen has begun to freeze and phone severly lag. Now the battery is crapping out on me!! Very slow charge, sometimes it keeps flipping back and forth between charging and not. I've been watching in amazement today on how it is plugged into to charger now but yet is slowly dying 1% at a time. I swear ALL these phones are JUNK!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from just 2 things i didnt like Great phone for the price, only thing i noticed first was that when recording video theres no pause option,. The other thing was pretty major I found out that unlike other smart phones, when u crack the screen just a tiny bit, that section will not work anymore. If you crack the screen that whole section of the touchscreen will not work at all once cracked. Unlike other phones ive had in the past that were still fuctional after a cracked screen. But because the phone was only about $70 it was worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Power Button Dies! I found this to be a great phone save one major flaw: the power button dies. It has a good camera, it works well, the screen is good (I didn't have any issue with it cracking like other reviewers--it was pretty strong), and it worked quickly. I found it could get pretty warm with extensive use, but the battery was pretty good, particularly considering the size of the battery. However, after about 8 months the power button started going out. I would have to really push it hard or push it several times to wake up. By month 13 it is almost impossible to get it to turn on. It's a real pain that I've been trying to just deal with for several months. It's not worth the money. Buy something with a better user rating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money for a mid/hi grade phone. Is this phone top of the line? No. But it is worth the price tag. I have owned over 10 cell phones in 3 years. I switch because I'm always moving on to the next best thing in the prepaid market. This is the longest I've owned the same phone (8 months) and I love it. Screen is large, clear and responsive. Great screen to shell ratio too, no extra bulk. The audio is fantastic, with dual front facing speakers I haven't had to use an external speaker to listen to music. Combine those and I have a great video streaming experience. The hardware itself is great. I can have 10+ apps running and the phone doesn't bat an eye. The battery has long lasting life, alive all day even with moderate/heavy usage. After the Android update, I needed to factory reset the phone so the battery could recalibrate, but that's understandable. The only con I have about the phone, and as many have stated already, is the power button. After 8 months of use, my power button is responsive only about half the time. I have to press multiple times at different angles to turn the screen off. (I have switched to the double tap method to turn the screen on.) I have personally recommended this phone to a friend after she complained that her [big name phone] was lagging/causing her frustration. She has had the phone for 3 days and she is amazed at how this "generic" phone is competing with her big name one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the camera, if I could turn on the phone I have had this phone for 6 months. I had to send it in using my warranty to get a refurbished one. The power button had issues, took many clicks before it would turn on or off. Until it stopped working all together. I now have had this refurbished one for 2 months and it is starting to do the same exact thing. Other than that, no other complaints. If they could figure that out so it doesn't happen to these phones, it would be perfect. If you can't even turn on your phone, whats the point in having it!?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't do it!!! Don't waste your money! Had this phone less than a month and the screen cracked. It was in my back pocket and when I got in my car is cracked. The bottom half stopped working. In the same week it falls on my CARPET soft carpet and I could no longer use the screen. Went back to store since it was less than a month and tjeyvsod even with insurance they wouldn't take it back and I had to buy a new one. WASTE OF MONEY! Worst screen ever!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bluetooth connection issues. I've had this phone since February 2016 and I absolutely love this phone. I think it's pretty close to Galaxy and LG level. Not quite the yet though. Love the speakers how user friendly it is as well as the camera and big size and lightweight combo. The only problem I have is with Bluetooth connection. I have 2 ear Bluetooths (Plantronics and Motorola) plus a car Bluetooth and I've borrowed my mom's Bluetooth as well (Polaroid) and I have issues with people hearing me on ALL of them. Huge problem for me since clearly Bluetooths are life in my world. Lol. In spite of this I still plan on keeping this phone for the foreseeable future. This is the only reason I didn't give this phone 5 stars. If anyone has an idea for a solution please help me out. If you don't use Bluetooth this is definitely the phone for you EXCELLENT PHONE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lock screen\power button is faulty. I bought this phone in March of 2016, after 2 months the power and lock screen button started malfunctioning. I would have to press it multiple times to get it to go on and off and I could no longer screen shot. Determined it was manufactures defect, went through warranty and received the exact same phone. 1 month later the phone did the exact same thing! Either I have bad luck to encounter the same issue with both phones, or the device is poor quality. Aside from this issue, the phone would have been perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alcatel now has Bloatware! I rated this phone 5 stars when it was clean. The latest Joy Launcher fiasco has me parting with this phone. The app cannot be disabled and it takes over your desktop with each update. I contacted Alcatel and they were of little help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually the best phone deal here 8 core CPU, big, high res screen, high version of Android, 16 GB storage... the Idol 3 is by far the best phone in the reasonable price range. I had one, broke it and am buying a second, as none of the phones offered by Cricket can match Idol 3. Battery life is modest. Not a phone for long trips without a charger nearby.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money I bought this in June of last year and it has totally unbelievable hot mess! First it wasn't bad, then it would be turned off more than on. Second, after the Marshmallow update my camera would not open for months! Third, now the speakers are going out! I have hearing loss and a loud speaker on my cellphone is critical. Thought maybe dust or ? got inside so I tried to open the bank to clean it and the back doesn't come off!!!!! Fourth, every time my phone reorients any email I'm writing vanishes!! I'm getting a New Phone!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great phone, poor battery I was so excited about this phone when I bought it. Finally someone put speakers on the front of a phone! Genius idea and the fast processor was an added bonus to convince me to buy it. After 2 weeks of owning it I haven't had any problems with the phone itself, but the battery doesnt even last a day. All those cool features dont mean much if the battery runs out. Its like a car with no gas, it ain't going anywhere. The specs on tje battery were very good too, its must not be as good quality of a battery as my Samsung I jad before this. Also, there isnt a very good battery saving mode. Only turns on at 15% or you can turn it on manually. Cant change the battery so kind of disappointed this phone isnt going to last 6 months for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful Phone with Some Issues After my Moto D (from Cricket) had finally stopped working for me. I need a new phone fast. I was happy to see the reviews for this phone were generally positive. After reviewing the specs. I was happy to purchase this over a BLU phone I saving up to purchase (especially the difference in price). I'm very happy with the phone. It was a huge upgrade from the Moto I had. The only issue I have, which is common, is that the accelerometer is buggy. I've attempted to use various apps to fix this problem with no luck. After reading other reviews, this is a common problem. Besides that (and not being able to use 3D apps) the phone has been a joy to use and well worth the purchase. Pictures come out looking great, a good amount of space for apps and games. I can't complain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just dont do it I've gone through 4 of these phones. The screen breaks so easily. I tap and the whole phone is useless. The glass is so thin that if it cracks, the LCD screen doesn't work either. Only reason I had 4- broke first one. insurance replaced (75 bucks) broke the second one two days later (75 bucks) Power button stopped working (replacement was free, 4- small screen crack in upper right hand corner - completely unresponsive screen. thats 250 dollars for paper weights. ZTE is pretty good. Better quality screen. same price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Screen Not Respond I had this phone for only about 2 weeks or so, i started to loving it. Everything about it, battery life, storage, volume(speaker's), and then it comes to the screen. I drop it accidentally about 1 inch or so, and the screen was crack. I didn't care about it. But i saw it wasn't responding! That's the only BAD thing from Alcatel! They need to fix it! And cricket doesn't really say anything about it. They just say, "it's really good"
