Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alcatel Idol 3 All in all, pretty happy with it. Read reviews before purchasing. Said you could see screen outside better than most phones. Not in my case.I go outside and I try and get out of the sun so I CAN see the screen. Decent phone though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Reception!!! My biggest complaint is that the poor reception of this phone is beyond frustrating. Cricket has already replaced this phone twice. The first time was about 5 months ago due to the power bar always registering at 0% despite charging it. Then they agreed to send a replacement again due to the fact I can't get reception in my house, at work, or reliably anywhere in between. Bear in mind that I didn't have any issue with reception with other Cricket phones. My wife has an LG phone through Cricket and her service is fine. Do a Google search of both of these problems and you'll find many others with the same Idol 3 issues. Knowing this, I asked Cricket if they could just apply credit toward another phone brand instead of sending a replacement again. Unfortunately, the response was no, so here I am stuck with a well-known defective phone along with money wasted on a service I couldn't effectively use for the past 3 months. Why should I pay full price for another phone with Cricket when I can get a free (or a greatly discounted) one by moving my number to another carrier?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not turn on Son had this phone for only 3 months and out of no where it won't turn on. At first it would turn on randomly, but now its just dead. Wasted $100 of his money. No issues before, didn't drop. well had a good case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Screen issue My husband and I both bought this phone and within one week, they both got cracks in the screens after literally NO trauma to the phones, and they are unusable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Screen Problems? I bought this yesterday and before I did a software update it was working fine. After the software update the screen started glitching and sort of flickering and won't stop. Can this be some sort of defect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked great at first It worked great when I first got it last year. Now, it freezes all the time, despite not having a ton of apps on it. I'm constantly having to restart it and the battery life is practically non-existent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problem after problem I bought this phone probably about a year ago. To start, the battery life is laughable. I can't even go through a full day of work without having to plug it in. 2 months after I bought it, it started randomly restarting (I never figured out if any of my actions caused it; I couldn't recreate it by having too many apps open or going to fast on it). I stopped using it and switched over to a ZTE instead. Well, I cracked the screen on my ZTE, and that started having problems. I switched back to this phone after reading that my restarting issue was due to the OS not meshing with the hardware of the phone, and a simple update would take care of it. The phone worked for me for a while, with the occasional small, common issue that wasn't really a big deal. Until about two weeks ago. It was working just fine all day, and then around 5pm, the phone started randomly pressing buttons along the home row. I factory reset it, and that did not help. Now I can't even get through the setup process without the phone pressing the back button. I'm so disappointed with my experience with this phone. I expected better from Alcatel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate it!!!1 So many times I just want to launch it and watch it break to pieces. It freezes all the time. Sometimes I can't answer my calls because it's frozen. Worst phone I ever had.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good temporary phone ONLY I bought this about a year ago & so did my boyfriend. Served its purpose well the first 6 months. After the 6 months everything fell down hill. The speakers ARE a great feature, BUT It is very slow. Takes FOREVER to turn off/on & restart. Use apps for camera quality. It blurs easily. The storage is terrible. I would never buy this phone again. Spend extra money. This is just cheap. Androids make you root your phone in order to transfer phone memory to Sd cards nowadays...so be prepared to have very few apps and pictures unless your phone is rooted. Battery drains super fast also! I barely use my phone while I'm at work and by the time I leave work 7 hrs later it is on 60% (using less than 1hr Of usage)...this is with apps closed, brightness all the way down. Wi-fi off AND bluetooth off. if you turn this phone off or fully let it die expect to jump through hoops to get it back on. I have had to do some serious troubleshooting. WAY too responsive to touch. I should be able to scroll through social media w/o it making me like everything...my bf has ALL the same issues...so I know it is in fact the phone quality!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad purchase decision Purchased the phone a few weeks ago already having tons of problems and you are pretty much on your own local store offers no help with only a seven day return policy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reasonable & dependable ... for me I've been using this phone for over 12 months and it's held up OK. I don't use a large variety of apps, but the standard Google, FB, and Microsoft apps work fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No I got this phone and a month after I got it it shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I sent it into warranty and I got it back. About a month later the screen popped off the phone. The phone was in terrific condition with no damage whatsoever. The screen just popped off, it wasn't even cracked so I sent it in again and this time it took 10 days for them to get back to me after I registered my issue with them. Finally, they allowed me to send it in a second time. Now, I used the phone for about 5 days after getting it back the second time and today the screens half coming off again with no trauma to the screen, the screen is not broken. I contacted Alcatel once again and they want me to send the phone in a third time in 3 months. I'm done with Alcatel I am done with this phone I'm going to set it aside and buy a completely different phone. Not to mention.... I have not put a single scratch on the phone, but somehow when I got it back from warranty the second time, it came back with 3 scratches. Not happy. Alcatel didn't even offer me a different model so that I could rid myself of this phone. I'll never buy a phone through Alcatel again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great phone, until... I've owned two of these in a row and they've had the EXACT same issues. After about 3-4 months of use (typical use I might add, I'm not hard on my phone) there are 3 issues that have occurred in both that I've had. The lock button on the side fails. It starts slowly requiring a few presses to work, eventually gets to having to press it 10 or so times, and they eventually just fails. The headphone jack shorts out. At first at though my headphones went bad until I tried a new pair and wiggled it to discover its the headphone input on the phone. Lastly, seems that the data coverage begins to get worse, as if the antenna is failing. I listen in the same spots at work everyday and there is one location at the end of my day that works great up until these other issues start occurring, then it cuts out constantly. Can you say poor quality control? The apps tend to freeze and hang all the time but that's to be expected with the value price. It's also pretty terrible that Cricket would send me a refurbished phone when replacing the first one. I was thinking of upgrading to the IDOL 4 but I think I'll steer clear of Alcatel for now and try an LG or a ZTE.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value but MAJOR problem after 6.0 update I've had this phone for 5 months. Here's my experience.... THE GOOD: Outstand features at this price point. Looks + feels upscale. Excellent screen! Very sharp and bright, even in direct sunlight. The stereo speakers are awesome! Much louder than the ones on my laptop. The camera is good in bright daylight but expect poor results in anything less. Overall size is the maximum to one-hand. Controls + charging port are well placed. Battery life is good but expect to recharge often if doing more than just the basics. THE BAD: Major problem after it updated to Android 6.0 ! Now when connected to ANY computer via USB cable the phone shows as a CD-ROM drive with NO data. I can't access the SD card or internal storage. The ONLY way to transfer data between the phone + PC is over a bluetooth connection! Alcatel has been very unresponsive to my requests for help and has offered no solution. The phone worked fine on Android 5.0 so if you buy one, DO NOT UPDATE to Android 6.0 ! My only other gripe is the poor selection and design of available cases. All are hybrid designs that don't protect the corners well. This is probably a result of the phone's design of having front speakers and rear camera so close to the edge. CONCLUSION: This phone would be AWSOME if it would still connect to a computer properly. Aside from this major flaw, it's been the best smartphone I've ever owned.
