Set up your Cricket 5G Home Internet in less than 15 minutes with the myCricket Internet App.

Connecting your Cricket 5G Home Internet is simple. Unlike traditional cable internet, Cricket 5G Home Internet connects wirelessly, using your gateway to receive a signal from a nearby cell tower. Because your gateway relies on a wireless signal, where you place it can make a big difference in the speed and reliability of your connection. We’re here to help you find the best spot to place your gateway.
STEP 1
Once you’ve downloaded the app, scan the QR code on the front of your device and you’re ready to place your gateway.
STEP 2
Follow the steps in the app to find the best spot in your home to place your gateway.
STEP 3
Plug in your gateway to a power supply. Your device will connect automatically to our nationwide 5G network.
Place your gateway near a window, if possible, for the clearest path to your 5G signal.
Make sure there is a clear open path for your gateway’s signal. Placing in a cabinet or if any objects obstruct your gateway, it can result in a weaker signal.
Placing your gateway on a shelf or other elevated surface can help improve signal strength.
Use the app to position your gateway so it faces the direction of the nearest cell tower. This helps your gateway receive the strongest possible signal.
Make sure your gateway is powered on and has had several minutes to complete setup. If you’re still offline, try restarting the gateway. Unplug your device, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
If you don’t have 3-4 green lights on your gateway, you may have a weak signal. Make sure you placed your gateway in an open, elevated space in the spot closest to the cell tower. Consult the myCricket internet app for more details or see our support page.
Check the Wi-Fi status light on the back of your gateway. A green light means Wi-Fi is turned on. If there is no light, Wi-Fi is turned off. Double check to make sure your password and Wi-Fi network have been entered correctly. Restarting your device may also help your Wi-Fi connect.
