Important Network Update: Galaxy S10 5G Devices Transitioning to LTE-Only
Why Is This Happening?
As part of our ongoing network modernization, we’re upgrading infrastructure to improve performance and reliability. These enhancements include changes to how our network interacts with certain legacy devices—specifically the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, model SM-G977U.
Due to technical limitations and compatibility with new 5G configurations, Galaxy S10 5G devices will no longer connect to 5G on our network starting November 1, 2025.
What Does This Mean for You?
- Your Galaxy S10 will continue to work on our network as LTE-only
- You will no longer be able to access 5G speeds or features from this device on our network.
- There is no action required if you choose to keep using your S10 as an LTE-only device
The S10 lacks compatibility with updated mmWave configurations and 5G SA (Standalone) features being deployed across our network. These updates are designed to improve uplink capacity and throughput, but older devices like the S10 cannot support them.
Yes, your device will continue to function on LTE. However, it will no longer connect to 5G on our network
