What is Stream MoreSM?

Stream More is a setting on your phone to help save data when streaming video content. Certain high definition video content will stream at standard definition quality when this setting is on (about 480p, or similar to viewing a DVD).

Who can get it?

The Stream More service will be available to every Cricket customer with a data plan except those with the Unlimited Extra Plan and Unlimited Plan.

How much does it cost?

There's no additional cost to use Stream More.

How do I turn Stream More on and off? How will I know it's on?

For most customers, Cricket will turn on Stream More for you when you activate service. It's free, and customers have the option to turn it off immediately. For information on when Cricket will turn it on for you, go to cricketwireless.com/mobilebroadband.

Under Line Settings & Stream More, tap Stream More. Then switch the toggle On or Off depending on your preference.

When I turn Stream More off or on, is it immediate or is there a lag time?

The selection change will take effect in near real time.

How much more video can I watch with Stream More?

The amount of data used to watch video on your smartphone will vary, with one important factor being video resolution. A typical 90 minute HD movie uses 1.25-2.5GB of data. With Stream More on, watching the same movie in SD uses no more than 1GB. That's saving between 250MB and 1.5GB. HD is excellent for viewing TV at home but when you stream on a smartphone, SD quality looks great and uses less data. This lets you surf more, play harder, and enjoy more of what you love on your smartphone.

Will Stream More apply to all video?

No. Stream More will not apply to content it can't identify as video. Streaming and video resolution can be affected by other factors as well. These factors include:

  • Resolution you usually watch in
  • App settings
  • Stream source
  • Network traffic, etc

Do all content providers participate in Stream More?

Some content providers opt not to participate in Stream More. Streaming their videos will use more of your high-speed data.

Are there devices that don't support Stream More?

Stream More works on wireless devices that have the capability to stream video content, such as smartphones. Exceptions include devices that cannot stream video.

How does Stream More work when I am on Wi-Fi?

Is Stream More compatible with 3G, 4G and 4G LTE?

Will Stream More affect my data usage when using my data outside the U.S.?
