Cricket Wireless has much to celebrate this week.

For starters, today is our birthday; our 23rd to be exact. This is significant not only because of our longevity in the prepaid industry, but because it reflects the loyalty and satisfaction of our customers over the years.

We’ve come a long way since March 17, 1999 when the first Cricket Wireless store opened in Chattanooga, Tenn. Back then, we offered only one device on one wireless plan. Today, Cricket customers enjoy access to a great selection of top-brand phones and straightforward service plans, which they can purchase online or in any of our store locations in all 50 states and in Washington, DC.

This birthday milestone also underscores the hard work, talent and dedication of our employees and Authorized Retailers who make it their business to deliver an exceptional customer experience along with high value wireless solutions—day after day, year after year.

Another reason we’re celebrating this week is our recent recognition by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as one of Atlanta’s Top Workplaces. This marks the fourth year in a row that we received this honor.

Atlanta is home to our corporate headquarters—so being named one of the city’s top employers is a huge accomplishment. It’s also a much welcomed “thank you” to and from our employees who clearly believe in the work we’re doing at Cricket to create a culture that’s collaborative, inclusive and committed to winning as one.

Cricket is also winning when it comes to helping our customers stress less and smile more. We’re continuing our efforts to help close the digital divide by participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program, a federal program that lowers the cost of service for qualifying households.  And we recently added 5G1 to all rate plans and removed certain non-video speed caps on our $30, $40 and $55 plans.

It’s never been a better time to be part of the Cricket family—as a customer or as an employee. While we’ll spend some time celebrating this week, we remain more focused than ever to keep our customers connected to who and what matters most.
