As parents, teachers and students gear up for the 2023 Back to School season, Cricket Wireless is taking a closer look at the greater role that technology plays in parents’ budgets. A recent survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Cricket Wireless1 found that 58% of parents believe that Back to School supplies are more expensive now than when they attended school. And school supply lists that require technology only exacerbate these increasing costs.

Based on the survey findings, 80% of parents allocate their Back to School budgets to technology and 72% of parents state their children will need a smartphone for school. To help parents, teachers and students stress less and smile more this Back to School season, Cricket Wireless is offering savings on devices and launching a Backpack Design Contest to help curb expenses.

Seventy percent of respondents said most or all of their back-to-school budget is reserved for tech items.   • Five teachers nominated by the design winner will receive: a gift card for school essentials, a tablet and 25 custom backpacks designed by the winner who nominated the teacher.

In addition, two teachers in 17 markets across the country will receive a gift card for school supplies and a tablet. Cricket branded backpacks will also be distributed to participants at supply drives in the seventeen markets.
