CRICKET WIRELESS KICKS OFF FIFTH ANNUAL 12 DAYS OF CRICKET CAMPAIGN
Progressive Leasing Foundation Joins Once Again to Help Spread Smiles to Families
November 6, 2023
What’s the news? Cricket Wireless and Boys & Girls Clubs of America come together for the fifth year to spread joy to families during the festive season with Cricket’s annual holiday giving campaign, 12 Days of Cricket. Progressive Leasing is also on board again this year to support the campaign’s goal of spreading smiles and making an impact in the community. Boys & Girls Clubs youth and their families across the country will benefit from gifts and financial support valued at more than $130K.
Holiday events will take place at Boys & Girls Clubs locations in 17 markets. WWE® Superstars Kofi Kingston®, Drew McIntyre®, and more will be surprising families and club members in select cities. They will be presenting WWE® Championship titles, signing autographs and sharing how club members can spread cheer among their peers all year long.
Additionally, Motorola is collaborating with Cricket’s field marketing managers to spread extra holiday cheer with the 12 Days of Cricket Sweepstakes. Beginning November 17 through January 4, 2024, participants nationwide will have a chance to win one of ten prize packages (includes $1,000 and a motorola razr) by scanning a QR code in Cricket Wireless stores.1 Plus, Cricket will donate $500 and a motorola razr to two Boys & Girls Club families in each winners’ cities.
Why does it matter? This year marks five years since this campaign started. 12 Days of Cricket has given Cricket the opportunity to make an impact in the community beyond its annual financial commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Together with its annual agreements and the 12 Days of Cricket campaign, Cricket Wireless has donated approximately one million dollars to the organization. “We’re proud of what we’ve been able to do for Boys & Girls Clubs youth and their families,” said John Dwyer, president, Cricket Wireless. “And, our initiatives with the organization have also inspired our team to give back to our communities during this holiday season” he added.
On their part, president & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Jim Clark said, "we know every young person has the potential for a great future when they have access to the resources and support they need, and we are grateful to partners like Cricket Wireless who are dedicated to supporting kids and their families to thrive this holiday season and beyond.”
What else? Cricket and Boys & Girls Clubs of America renewed their annual agreement for the 2023-24 academic year. Both organizations will work together throughout the year in five key markets Atlanta, Denver, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The initiatives for this year will focus on increasing and maintaining teen membership through college, life and workforce readiness programs. Moreover, as a part of Cricket’s social give back program, Cricket HBCU Campus Ambassador, BGCA alumna and Bethune-Cookman University senior, Sabrina, surprised her club with $1,000 and a pizza party to pay it forward.
